Brendan Seale

As Head of Sustainability for IKEA Canada, Brendan Seale brings to life IKEA’s “People & Planet Positive” strategy – to inspire and enable millions of people to live a more sustainable life at home, to strive for resource and energy independence, and to create a better life for people and communities affected by its business. Day to day, this involves integrating sustainability principles into the Canadian retail organization's strategy, operations, product & service offerings, culture, governance, and brand.

Previously Brendan served as Sustainability Advisor with The Natural Step Canada, and in corporate communications in the mining sector. He holds an MSc in Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability from Blekinge Institute of Technology in Sweden, and a BA in Communication Studies & Multimedia from McMaster University.

Brendan is a father to a young son named Grafton who has given his work a greater depth of purpose.

In leisure time, Brendan’s feet keep the company of bicycle pedals, soccer shoes, ski boots, and infectious beats.
