Cheeying Ho

Cheeying is the executive director of the Whistler Centre for Sustainability, a mission-based enterprising non-profit organization. Cheeying is responsible for business planning and development and organizational development, and works as part of the Centre’s team on sustainability planning projects, in BC, AB and the YK. She speaks frequently on community planning, sustainability and smart growth. Before taking on this position, Cheeying was the Executive Director of Smart Growth BC, the leading province-wide non-governmental organization advancing sustainable land use and development, for eight years. Prior to that, she headed up BEST - a sustainable transportation policy and education organization.

She is a former high school and college teacher of science and mathematics. Former assignments include: a member of the Prime Minister's External Advisory Committee on Cities and Communities; a term on the Board of Vancity Credit Union and Vancity Enterprises; a member of the City of Vancouver’s Greenest City Action Team.

Cheeying likes to play in the mountains with her partner, Tom, son Wei Tien, and step-son Jack.
