Dialogue on a Gold-standard for Sustainable Business At The Green Living Show (Toronto, ON)
Please join us at the Green Living Show on April 12 from 12:00 to 2:30pm to share your views and expertise to help shape a benchmark for truly sustainable business performance!
As consumers and institutions increasingly factor social and environmental performance into decisions about what they buy, where they work and where they invest, the plethora of standards, labels and rankings about sustainable businesses risk confusing decision-makers and undermining trust.
Our belief is that a broadly-recognized “Gold-standard”, aligned with rigorous sustainability principles, could accelerate the sustainable business movement by driving innovation and providing clarity in the marketplace. Businesses with outstanding sustainability performance would be rewarded for their work.
This dialogue is the initial step in The Gold-standard for Sustainable Business project, a collaborative initiative which aims to help consumers, businesses, investors, and employers to support truly sustainable business practices through the decisions they make.
During this dialogue we will explore the questions:
- Why a Gold-standard for Sustainable Business?
- What are pros and cons of a Gold-standard for businesses leading the sustainability agenda?
- What issues do you feel are most important to address in a Gold-standard?
- How can we support existing efforts and work together to establish a Gold-standard?
A complimentary lunch is provided, and seats will be limited to the first 50 registrants.
