David Hughes

David Hughes has been providing leadership to organizations serving the needs of our most vulnerable children, youth and families – both here in Canada and abroad – for over 25 years.  This includes 10 years working in the senior ranks of the SOS Children’s Villages supporting orphaned and abandoned children through postings in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and at the United Nations.  This was followed by 7 years providing homes for low-income families as President & CEO of Habitat for Humanity Canada during a time of significant innovation and growth.

In 2009 David was hired as President & CEO of Pathways to Education Canada to lead the organization’s expansion throughout Canada.   Under his leadership the organization has become a strong advocate for making Canada a ‘Graduation Nation’ and has launched new programs in Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and Manitoba and is now expanding to additional provinces.

He holds an economics degree from the University of Western Ontario and a postgraduate degree from the London School of Economics (LSE) in social policy, public administration and non-profit management.
