
Soni Craik Christie
Soni Craik Christie has focused her career developing and leading precedence-setting projects focused on public sector sustainable food procurement and associated emission reporting. For the past 7 years she has Co-Directed SCC Consulting - a boutique consultancy firm focused on positively transforming public food procurement priorities, policies and practices towards sustainability. She specializes in assembling and facilitating cross-sectoral teams that have intersecting objectives in agriculture and agri-business, food purchasing policies and the health of our communities and planet. Clients included the City of Toronto, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance, the Ontario Student Nutrition Program, the Greenbelt Foundation, Mohawk College, the Ontario Edible Education Network, Roots to Harvest and the Thunder Bay and Area Food Strategy Group.
Prior to opening her own consultancy, Soni worked for Ecosource - an award winning environmental organization in the GTA. Here she developed highly regarded programs addressing education for sustainable development, including the co-creation and instruction of a certificate program in partnership with York University and the University of Manchester.
Soni has a post-graduate in Environmental Management from Toronto Metropolitan University, a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Biology from Carleton University and is a fellow of the University of California at Berkeley's Behr’s Environmental Leadership Program.
